Modern Slavery Statement
Greenwich Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Greenwich Movers to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a responsible moving and logistics business, we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our relationships, ensuring that exploitation has no place in our organisation or any services provided on our behalf.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Greenwich Movers maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and exploitation. This applies to every aspect of our business, from our directly employed workforce to any agency staff, subcontractors, and suppliers engaged in delivering our services.
All employees, managers, and business partners are required to uphold this policy without exception. Any breach is treated as a serious disciplinary or contractual matter and may result in termination of employment or business relationships, as well as referral to the appropriate authorities where required.
Our Supply Chain and Supplier Standards
Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, packaging materials, warehousing, facilities services, and labour. We recognise that some of these areas may carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, especially where work is temporary, low paid, or subcontracted.
We expect all suppliers and contractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our onboarding process, we require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights laws in the jurisdictions where they operate. Suppliers who cannot demonstrate adequate standards or transparency will not be engaged.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
Greenwich Movers carries out proportionate due diligence and audits on suppliers, focusing on those operating in higher-risk sectors or regions. This may include reviewing policies on labour practices, checking right-to-work documentation processes, examining use of subcontractors or agency labour, and assessing health and safety standards and working conditions.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within an agreed timeframe. If a supplier fails to make satisfactory improvements, we reserve the right to suspend or end the commercial relationship. Our objective is both to protect workers and to encourage continuous improvements in labour standards throughout our supply chain.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone working for or with Greenwich Movers to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices. Concerns may arise from recruitment processes, working and living conditions, payment practices, or treatment of workers by supervisors or agents.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or through internal whistleblowing channels within the company. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will take all reasonable steps to protect those who raise concerns in good faith from victimisation or retaliation. Every report will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and addressed with appropriate action.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we aim to raise awareness of modern slavery indicators among managers and staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. Training and guidance will be updated as needed to reflect legal developments, industry best practice, and lessons learned from our own due diligence activities.
Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement
Greenwich Movers is committed to the ongoing review and improvement of our controls to combat modern slavery. We will review this statement annually, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, business operations, or risk assessments. The review will consider the effectiveness of our supplier audits, the adequacy of our reporting channels, and feedback from employees and business partners.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Greenwich Movers and reflects our firm commitment to operating responsibly, ethically, and in full respect of human rights throughout our organisation and supply chains.
